POLS 4100 - Democratic Theory 3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: POLS 3000 or PHIL 4100 Description: This course invites students to think critically about the theory and practice of democracy. What is it? Why is it valuable? What gives it authority: procedure or substance? Who gets to vote and why? How should minorities be protected? Can democracy succeed with apathetic, irrational, and/or uninformed voters?
