HIST 4103 - The Making of Modern Science Credit Hours 3 Description: An introductory survey of the history of science in its social, political, cultural, and intellectual contexts from antiquity to the beginning of twenty-first century through the lens of a humanistic and social science approach. Students will also appreciate a very different view of the making of modern science—one that needed real cultural engagement on the part of its practitioners from Aristotle/Plato through Galileo/Newton till Albert Einstein, Satyen Bose and Richard Feynman among others.
