The Political Science program is designed for students who want to work in campaigns and government; teach government and history in high school; or who want a traditional liberal arts major which prepares them to think critically and enter a wide variety of business and other nongovernmental organizations. Our majors with the legal studies concentration are also prepared for law school and graduate school. Courses cannot be counted in both the major and minor. A departmental exit exam is required the last semester before graduation.
* For this degree a student must complete at least 39 hours upper division (3000-4999) credit hours.
* A minor is required should the student not declare legal studies as a concentration.
A bachelor’s degree in political science addresses a number of topics, including law. For students interested in a legal career, APSU offers a legal studies concentration within the political science degree. Listed below are the courses we require for the program.
