Description of Major

Engineering Technology is a multi-discipline major with industry specific concentrations in Automotive Systems Design (AAS and BS, 2+2; ETAC of ABET Accredited), Construction (AAS and BS, 2+2; ETAC of ABET Accredited), Electronics (AAS; ETAC of ABET accredited), Electrical (BS, 2+2; ETAC of ABET Accredited), Manufacturing (BS; ETAC of ABET accredited), Mechanical (BS; Preparing for ETAC of ABET accreditation), and Mechatronics (AAS and BS, 2+2; Preparing for ETAC of ABET accreditation).  Each concentration has been designed to meet the needs of local, regional, and national industry relative to the specific concentration.

The BS degree in Engineering Technology with a concentration in Mechanical is designed to prepare students to work in industry as specialist in Mechanical Design and Implementation.  Mechanical Engineering Technologist are specifically trained to fully understand and apply the complex designs created by Mechanical Engineers.

Mechatronics Engineering Technology Concentration


The BS degree in Engineering Technology with a concentration in Mechatronics prepares students to work in the Automation and Control, or Manufacturing industries as an Automation Systems Design Engineering Technologist for the design and implementation of automated systems.
