Description of Major

The department presently offers three concentrations within the major, Leadership Science, Organizational Administration, and Hospitality Administration.  The major has five major competencies that students should seek to develop regardless of the concentration they are pursuing. These are communication proficiency, strategic thinking, ethical behavior, cultural awareness, and knowledge integration. For each of these competencies, we have at least one course that satisfies that competency.

Hospitality Administration Concentration


The major goal of this concentration is to provide an opportunity for students with associate degrees, certificates, and training in the hospitality/restaurant/hotel/culinary arts areas to complete a bachelor’s degree.  These students will be able to utilize their lower division coursework as well as their work experiences in addition to the prescribed upper division coursework and other credits required for a bachelor’s degree.  The program will be offered online in order to accommodate the non-traditional student, military students, and others not geographically located in the APSU area.  Total credits required for this program:  120 Credit Hours.
