Latin with Licensure Concentration

Students seeking licensure for teaching grades 7-12 in Tennessee must also take LING 4400 and one study abroad course or present evidence of an acceptable intensive experience abroad in the target language.

This program satisfies Tennessee guidelines for secondary school licensure. Students seeking licensure, 7-12 for teaching in Tennessee, must also complete the Professional Education Minor, LING 4400, Student Teaching, the PRAXIS II 7-12 teaching exam (code 20624, minimum score 155), the PRAXIS II Latin specialty exam (code 10601, minimum score of 141) and take one-year of Greek, Chinese, French German or Spanish (6-8 hours). Transfer students must earn at least six (6) hours in Latin at APSU.
