Adult, Nontraditional, and Transfer Student Center

The Adult, Nontraditional and Transfer Student (ANTS) Center provides an encouraging environment that supports student success through advocacy, engagement and connections to campus and community resources.
The center is a welcoming space that celebrates adult, nontraditional, and transfer students while remaining open to all students at Austin Peay State University.
The space offers comfortable lounge areas, tables for studying or gathering; a conference table, a large whiteboard and printing access, as well as a lactation space and a kitchenette equipped with a refrigerator and microwave. It is also family-friendly and features the ANT Farm, a designated play area for students with children.
Wilbur N. Daniel African American Cultural Center

The Wilbur N. Daniel African American Cultural Center (WNDAACC) provides a nurturing environment where all students, staff, faculty, and community members, regardless of race or ethnicity, can gain an appreciation for African America heritage and experiences.
The center’s mission is aligned with the university’s goals of creating a collaborative, integrative learning community that fosters critical inquiry and self-reflection necessary in a global society.
The WNDAACC hosts a wide variety of curricular and co-curricular programs, students are encouraged to check out our events and get involved.
Fraternity and Sorority Affairs

Fraternity and Sorority Affairs at Austin Peay State University fosters a values-based, student-centered Greek experience that promotes academic success, leadership development, community engagement and lifelong connections. Grounded in the Pillars of Excellence, we empower chapters to cultivate inclusive, responsible and thriving brotherhoods and sisterhoods that contribute to the university and beyond.
With 19 chapters across four governing councils (Interfraternity Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, United Greek Council and Panhellenic Council), there is a place for everyone to find their voice, make an impact and create lasting memories.
Being part of Greek life at APSU means joining a community dedicated to academic success, civic responsibility and personal growth. Members gain access to academic resources, leadership workshops, networking opportunities and a lifelong support system.
Latino Community Resource Center

The Latino Cultural Center (LCC) provides a nurturing environment where all students, staff, faculty and community members, regardless of race or ethnicity, can gain an appreciation for Latin heritage and experiences.
The center features a quiet study room and offers calculator rentals for the academic year. Additional resources include monitors and a printer. For relaxation, enjoy our lounge area with a television, comfortable seating and board games, or the kitchenette, which includes a refrigerator, microwave and toaster oven.
Throughout the year, the LCC hosts events and workshops in collaboration with other centers, focusing on educational enrichment, academic success and student support.
Intercollegiate Athletics
Location: Dunn Center, Room 141
Austin Peay State University competes at the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I level in the Atlantic Sun Conference. The Athletic Department sponsors men’s teams in football, basketball, baseball, golf, tennis, and cross country; and women’s teams in volleyball, basketball, tennis, cross country, softball, golf, indoor and outdoor track and soccer.
National Alumni Association
The National Alumni Association of Austin Peay State University is an organization designed for the purpose of promoting the welfare of the University through the development of a program of mutually beneficial relations between the alma mater and its alumni. The association was founded in 1936 and became a national association in 1990. Its membership consists of graduates, former students, and friends of the University. It is governed by a Board of Directors elected from its membership. The mission of the organization is to serve the University by providing an association for interaction among alumni, students, faculty, and administrators; and to encourage financial support for the academic programs, student scholarships, and general development of the University, as well as provide assistance in the recruitment of new students.
The headquarters of the APSUNAA and the Alumni Relations Office is located in the Pace Alumni Center at Emerald Hill.
Newton Military Family Resource Center

The Austin Peay State University William E. & Sadako S. Newton Military Family Resource Center – the state’s largest military-affiliated student center – is open year-round. The 5,200 square-foot building at 426 College St., next to Johnny’s Big Burger, provides the University’s military-affiliated students – MAS (active-duty military, veterans, reservists, National Guard members, ROTC cadets, retirees, and military families) with a one-stop shop for most of their social, financial, and academic needs. The facility houses the Military & Veterans Affairs division senior leadership, a VetSuccess on Campus Counselor, a VetSuccess on Campus Counselor, a Military-Affiliated Career Specialist, a Military-Affiliated Student Success Professional, and a Veterans Upward Bound Academic Coordinator.
The Newton Military Family Resource Center (NMFRC) offers programs throughout the academic year to address the unique challenges our Military-Affiliated Student (MAS) population faces. NMFRC features:
- A computer lab with online access, a printer, and CAC readers
- A dining area to eat, study, or talk with your peers
- A lounge to unwind and relax
- Events include educational, informational, and family-oriented programming throughout the year
- Programs throughout the academic year that address the unique challenges facing our student population
- Student-Peer Coaching – staff provides guidance and advice on how to navigate college and transition from military to college life and beyond
- Tech for MAS loan program – graphic calculators (TI-84 Plus) are available to APSU Military Affiliated Students – MAS only free of charge on a first-come, first serve basis for the semester.
- Texts for Vets loan program – relies on student textbook donations to loan textbooks for fellow APSU students, free of charge on a first-come, first serve basis for the semester.
- Tutoring one-to-one through the Center for Academic Support and Enrichment (CASE), which provides services for a variety of undergraduate courses.
It is a one-stop shop, servicing APSU military-affiliated students (MAS). The Newton Center is open to all APSU students, no military affiliation required. Please come in and visit us! We are open every day that the University is open: Monday – Thursday from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm and Friday from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.
Direct linkage to services provided by federal, state, and county Veteran Service Organizations and local non-profits that provide a wide array of support and services to our military-affiliated students.

Student Government Association

The Student Government Association (SGA) serves as the voice of the student body. Comprised of the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches, SGA meets weekly during the fall and spring semesters to address student needs and concerns. SGA also hosts campus-wide events that bring together students, faculty, staff and community members to promote school spirit and provide community service for the greater Clarksville community.
The Executive Council serves as the leaders of SGA. The president, vice president, and executive secretary are elected by the student body, while the chief justice and chief financial officer are selected by a committee comprised of members from all three branches. The Legislative Branch consists of the Senate, which includes representation from each class and college. The Judicial Branch is represented by the Student Tribunal and serves as the highest student court. SGA is advised through the Division of Student Affairs by the associate vice president for Student Affairs and dean of students.

Student organizations provide a valuable service to the campus community by promoting leadership development, community spirit, activism, public service and social engagement. As a student at Austin Peay, you have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities.
With more than 170 clubs and organizations, APSU offers opportunities that span social, religious, political, educational, economic and interests. These organizations provide leadership, scholarship, friendship and much more.

The Student Organization Council (SOC) is the governing body for student organizations at APSU. Its core functions include recognizing new student organizations, reviewing and re-recognizing existing organizations, funding student organization events and supporting organizational development.
University Recreation

Welcome to University Recreation! Your college experience includes time outside the classroom, and the Foy is where you can unlock your best self. Whether you are training in our weight room, joining an intramural league, dipping into aquatics or heading out on an outdoor adventure, this is your space to grow and thrive.
The facility includes a 10,000-square-foot fitness center, group fitness and cycling studios, racquetball and basketball courts, an indoor track, an intramural field, a heated 25-yard pool, an indoor climbing wall and bouldering area, equipment check out and functional training rooms.
Programs and offerings include:
- Fitness classes led by experienced instructors, including aerial silks, personal training, cycling, HIIT, yoga and more.
- Sport clubs for competitive play against other universities, as well as intramurals for recreational competition with fellow students.
- Govs Outdoors outdoor recreation programming, including indoor rock climbing, guided outdoor trips, equipment rental and low-ropes team-building and leadership activities.
- Our heated outdoor pool open mid-April through early October (weather-dependent), available for lap swimming and recreation.
- Adaptive recreation resources ensure programs are accessible for all abilities.
- Summer campus, including Little Peayple Camp (ages 5 to 8), AP Adventurers (ages 9 to 12) and Govs Outdoors Teen Camp (ages 13 to 17).
Our facilities are student-run, proving year-round employment and internship in areas such as recreation administration, facility operation, fitness and personal training, marketing and promotions, intramural officiating, customer service, outdoor adventure leadership and aquatics (summer only).
Access to the Foy Fitness and Recreation Center is included in tuition for Clarksville campus, Middle College and dual-enrolled students.
Honor and Professional Organizations
We have many organizations and honor societies that recognize students for their academic achievement, leadership and service. Membership provides opportunities for students to connect and engage with others who share similar goals and interests.
