AAST 3100 - Black Leaders of the Twentieth Century 3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: AAST 2200 or permission of instructor Description: An intellectual study of African American leaders of the 20th century, including Booker T. Washington, Ida B. Well-Barnett, W.E.B. DuBois, James Weldon Johnson, Marcus Garvey, Mary McLeod Bethune, and Charles Hamilton Houston. Focus on issues and schema of race, gender, and class relative to selected subjects and their participation in mass social movements.
