PHYS 3700 - Introduction to Modern Physics Credit Hours: 3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: PHYS 2120/2121 with a grade of “C” or higher or permission of instructor; Description: Quantization of radiation, matter waves, early atomic models, Schroedinger’s wave mechanics, Photoelectric effect, Compton effect, Planck’s constant, black body radiation, Franck-Hertz experiment, electron diffraction, atomic emission spectra, Millikan oil drop experiment, Bragg scattering, e/m ratio for the electron, and/or other modern physics topics.
