NURS 5000 - Theoretical Foundations

Credit Hours 3
Prerequisite: Admission to the MSN program.
Description: This course provides the student with the theoretical foundations for advanced nursing practice. The focus of the course is on the critical components of contemporary nursing knowledge; exploration of the nature of theory development in nursing; examination of relevance of concepts from basic and applied sciences; analysis and evaluation of nursing and related theories; and relevance of theory in terms of impact on professional nursing practice, and individuals, families, and groups as clients in healthcare systems.
