ENGL 5500 - Native American Literature

Prerequisite: English Major Restriction
Description: In this class, we will read Native American literature and orature through the lens of Native American literary theory and criticism. Ongoing Indigenous struggle for sovereignty, perseverance (survivance), expression, and representation will be our main concerns, including anti-colonialism and Indigenous feminism. Contemporary and historical authors will be examined and will frame our discussions.
