EDUC 5500 - Foundations of American Education

Designed for students seeking initial licensure, this interdisciplinary study of educational policies and practices and practices in American society; role and function of the school and the teacher; analysis of major problems and issues facing contemporary public education; and an evaluation and development of personal education philosophy. This course requires a 15-hour field experience and the development of an electronic portfolio.
