Education Specialist (Ed.S.)
(30 semester hours)
The Education Specialist program is designed to permit students to achieve a degree level higher than the master’s. The major is Education with concentrations available in Administration and Supervision, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, and Non-Public School – Non Licensure. Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the Ed.S. program students must meet the following criteria:
1. A GPA of 3.25 on the Master’s degree
2. A minimum GRE Verbal Score of 145 and GRE Quantitative Score of 140 or MAT - 387 or above. Administration and Supervision Concentration
The following courses below are for students who have a license in administration:
Required Core: 30 Credit Hours
Students with a master’s degree who wish to earn the Ed.S. and initial licensure as a principal will be required to complete the 30 hour course work for the master’s ELS program and the following courses: Non Public School or Non-Licensure Administration Specialization:
(Ed.S. core courses are not required) Electives
Select three (3) credit hours from the courses listed below:
Elementary/Secondary Education Concentration
Specialty Area: 9 Hours
Select 9 hours in consultation with graduate committee: Biology, English/Communication, Health and Physical Education, Language Arts/Reading, Mathematics, Early Childhood, Instructional Technology and Special Education. School Counseling Concentration
