Many pharmacy schools require at least two years of pre-pharmacy work (60+ credits). However, several pharmacy schools require at least three years (90+ credits) or a bachelor’s degree.
Students should obtain from the pharmacy school to which they intend to apply, a complete listing of the admission requirements. The prepharmacy study described below is designed primarily for those students who intend to apply for admission to the University of Tennessee (Memphis) Department of Pharmacy. Since admission requirements vary among schools, the program below may need to be modified to fit the requirements of a particular pharmacy school.
Students in the three-year program desiring to earn a degree in absentia may do so by meeting the university requirements and receiving prior approval from the department chair.
Requirements for Pharmacy Schools
Many pharmacy schools require applicants to take the Pharmacy College Admission Test (PCAT).
