Studio Art Concentration

Accreditations

All programs in the Department of Art & Design are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.

Admission Requirements

Admission to the B.F.A. and B.A. program is by application (usually at the end of the sophomore year), providing the student has met the following requirements:

1. Completion of: ART 1340 , ART 1350 , ART 1045 , ART 1360  and

2. Completion of a Portfolio Review in which the faculty will vote based on the quality of the student’s work.  Should faculty vote to deny entrance to the program, the student may appeal and/or re-apply the following semester.

Description

The B.A. in Studio Art is the ideal degree for students interested in receiving a broad education in the Liberal Arts while gaining a training in the Fine Arts.  All programs in the Department of Art and Design are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.

Students must select two (2) Art and Design foci and complete the entire sequence in each.  Foci options include drawing, digital media, graphic design, illustration, painting, photography, printmaking, pottery/ceramics, sculpture, and animation.  If drawing is selected as an area of focus, ART 1050 - Drawing II would be the first class in the drawing focus sequence.
