6-12 Licensure Secondary Science Concentration

Students interested in Secondary Science (Chemisty or Biology concentration) must meet the minimum requirements in Biology or Chemistry. Admission into this concentration is contingent on undergraduate background in one or more of the following disciplines. For Biology, the minimum courses are General Biology I and Lab (BIOL 1110/1111), General Biology II and Lab (BIOL 1120/1121), General Chemistry I and Lab (CHEM 1110/1111), and Pre-Calculus (MATH 1730). Students will also be required to have at least 8 additional hours of credit in upper level Biology courses as approved by director. For Chemistry, the minimum courses are General Biology I and Lab (BIOL 1110/1111), General Chemistry I and Lab (CHEM 1110/1111), General Chemistry II and Lab (CHEM 1120/1121), and Pre-Calculus (MATH 1730). Students will also be required to have at least 8 additional hours of credit in upper level Chemistry courses as approved by director.
