|
|
Return to: Majors, Concentrations, and Certificates
This concentration in Grades 6-8 Science Licensure is an advanced degree appropriate for those seeking teaching licensure who have completed prerequisite science courses in their undergraduate degree program. This program will equip teachers to become proficient leaders in science education and is aligned with the national frameworks for science education. Admission into this concentration is contingent on adequate undergraduate coursework and training in one or more of the science fields. Ideally, a broad background in undergraduate science courses that includes astronomy, biology, chemistry, geosciences, and physics should prepare candidates for the varied coverage of science disciplines in middle school (grades 6-8). Applicants will be approved for admission by the director with individual examination of the transcripts and other relevant professional experiences.
