The Master of Speech-Language Pathology Program prepares students for a career in speech-language pathology through comprehensive coursework and clinical training. The curriculum and clinical experiences align with the 2020 Standards for certification for speech-language pathology established by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Council for Clinical Certification in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CFCC). Graduating students may also be eligible for licensure in speech-language pathology by the Tennessee Department of Health, Division of Health-Related Boards. Successful completion of the program requirements will also ensure graduates of the MSLP degree program will be eligible for a Professional School Service Personnel License from the State of Tennessee’s Department of Education. Supervised clinical experiences are provided at the on-campus APSU Speech, Language and Swallowing Community Clinic and off-campus locations with community partners.
The Master of Speech-Language Pathology (MSLP) residential education program in speech-language pathology at Austin Peay State University is a Candidate for Accreditation by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, 2200 Research Boulevard, #310, Rockville, MD 20850, 800-498-2071 or 301-296-5700.
