The Science Education Research and Practice concentration is designed as a non-licensure program for practicing teachers and others interested in science literacy to provide the knowledge and skills required for effective classroom science teaching, science curriculum leaders, and/or researchers. Students will complete a 9 credit hour foundational core in education courses, a 15 credit hour sequence in science education methods, one 3 credit hour integrated education course, and a capstone project consisting of a 6 credit hour thesis. This concentration will be offered for cohorts as a two-year plan.

 

Admission Requirements

  • Listed below are the required application materials and the associated scores (if necessary) for each.
  • Application for admission
  • Application Fee:  $45 domestic
  • Official transcripts from all colleges attended
  • Verification of lawful presence in the United States (i.e. submit a license or other approved document)
  • Bachelor’s degree, from a regionally accredited institution showing a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.00
  • Teacher Licensure is required
  • Military documents (if applicable)
