Education Specialist (Ed.S.)
(30 semester hours)
The Education Specialist program is designed to permit students to achieve a degree level higher than the master’s. The major is Education with concentrations available in Administration and Supervision, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, and Non-Public School – Non Licensure. Select six hours from following group of courses with an emphasis in Special Education/Diversity/Learning Theory:

*Substitutes for courses completed in an earlier master’s degree must be approved in consultation with graduate committee. Administration and Supervision Concentration
Required Core:
Students with a master’s degree who wish to earn the Ed.S. and initial licensure as a principal will be required to complete the 30 hour course work for the master’s ELS program and the following courses: Non Public School or Non-Licensure Administration Specialization:

Elementary Education Concentration
Specialty Area: 9 Hours
Courses must be selected in consultation with graduate committee: Biology, English/Communication, Language Arts/Reading, Mathematics, Special Education and Early Childhood Education. Secondary Education Concentration
Specialty Area: 9 Hours
Select 9 hours in consultation with graduate committee: Biology, English/Communication, Health and Physical Education, Language Arts/Reading, Mathematics, Music, Psychology and Special Education. |
