HHP 5645 - Human Resources in Healthcare

Credit Hours 3
Prerequisite: Admitted to the Executive Certificate in Healthcare Administration program or permission from the Chair.
Description: The practical applications of Human Resources Management and how line managers can immediately apply those learnings on the job; how and why the landscape of recruiting and retention is rapidly changing in healthcare; how compensation systems work and why it is important for line managers to understand them and practice sound compensation applications; the nuances of employee relations and the role line managers must play to effectively manage people through difficult situations; how Human Resources fits into the strategic planning of the organization and the effect line managers have on those strategic plans.
