CPSY 8100 - Cognitive and Intellectual Assessment

Credit Hours 3
Prerequisite: Admission to the Counseling Psychology PsyD program.
Description: An advanced course designed to introduce both the theory and practice of cognitive and intellectual assessment of children, adolescents, and adults. The course will develop students’ abilities to administer, score, and interpret relevant major tests, such as Wechsler Intelligence Scales and the Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children. In addition to familiarity with such tests, assignments will be designed to encourage the integration of the results with other metrics to create an overall cross-sectional model of an individual’s performance/ability. A more general course in psychological assessment taken at the graduate level that covers psychometrics is a pre-requisite for this course.
