PSYC 7020 - Cognitive and Affective Aspects of Behavior

Credit Hours 3
Prerequisite: Admission and enrollment in Psy.D. program or instructor permission
Description: An advanced course covering the core theories of cognitive and affective bases of behavior. The course will draw upon well–established findings along with current trends from areas including cognitive psychology, cognitive neuropsychology and cognitive neuroscience to examine the role that cognition, affect, or the combination of the two may have in determining behavior. The importance of knowledge derived from basic research in the area along with the applications to clinical settings will be emphasized. Topics include attention, memory, reasoning, problem solving, intelligence, language, and affect.
