Admissions, Retention, and Graduation Requirements

Student will need to provide a complete statement if requirements are different from standard institutional requirements as stated in the Catalog. In addition to meeting the admissions requirements of the College of Graduate Studies (http://www.apsu.edu/cogs), candidates for this program must meet the following program requirements:

Students must have completed a BS degree in engineering technology, engineering or a bachelor’s degree in a related field from a regionally accredited university and must submit official transcripts to APSU.  Students with degrees in related fields, such as physics, chemistry or computer science may be required to complete additional undergraduate courses in engineering technology after consultation with an academic advisor.
 

Admission Requirements:

Students must submit official transcripts showing that they graduated from a bachelor’s degree program in a relevant field (engineering technology, engineering, physics, chemistry or mathematics) with a

GPA of 3.0 or better

OR

GPA of between 2.5 and 3.0 and must submit documentation to show that they meet any one of the following requirements:

Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering examination (any state);

Licensed as a Professional Engineer (any state);

Society Manufacturing Engineers Certified Manufacturing Engineer or Certified Manufacturing Technologist credentials;

Prior completion of 9 credit hours of graduate coursework in a relevant field with a GPA of 3.0 or better; or

Three years of documented industrial experience after graduation with the BS degree.

 

NOTE:  The College of Graduate Studies requires a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.5 documented by official college transcripts.

Students who drop out of the cohort temporarily will return to the program according to the current Graduate Bulletin.
