The Risk Analysis graduate certificate is designed for students or working professionals with a bachelor’s degree who would like to gain skills in risk analysis. This program will prepare students to recognize, assess, analyze, and manage risks inherent in all institutions. The twelve-hour graduate certificate is offered fully online and on-campus. The coursework can be completed in six months and can also be transferred towards MS in Computer Science and Quantitative Methods, with a concentration in Mathematical Finance.

Program Student Learning Outcomes

Students will gain an understanding of the basic concepts and knowledge required in computational mathematics toward solving real world problems.
Students will be able to write programs in the appropriate Computational Algebra System (CAS) to implement algorithms.
Students will demonstrate knowledge of the range of financial and financial related risks facing organizations.
Students will be able to understand the approach to risk management through risk identification, risk measurement and risk management (or mitigation).
Students will be able to conduct a comprehensive assessment of risks, provide a realistic assessment of those risks and select the most appropriate mitigating actions for those risks.
Students will be able to apply a variety of statistical methods for making inference and evaluate studies using hypothesis testing methods.
