The Public Management minor adds value to any major by providing the tools necessary where you will gain the practical work experience – and technical and managerial skills – needed to succeed in a variety of leadership roles. Your courses and experiences will prepare you for careers in both public, quasi-public, and nonprofit sectors. Students will develop an understanding of the core competencies of public management – political and financial processes, personnel administration, policy development and analysis, urban planning, and organizational theory and behavior – as they apply to a diverse workforce and citizenry. Our students graduate with a solid background in general areas of public management. Courses cannot be counted twice in the major and any minor.
