Art Education Concentration


Accreditations:

All programs in the Department of Art + Design are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.

 

Admission Requirements:

Admission to the B. F. A. and B. A. program is by application (usually at the end of the sophomore year), providing the student has met the following requirements:

1. Completion of: ART 1340, ART 1350, ART 1045, ART 1360

2. Completion of a Portfolio Review in which the faculty will vote based on the quality of the student’s work. Should faculty vote to deny entrance to the program, the student may appeal and/or re-apply the following semester.

 

Foreign Language Requirements

The BA requires completion of courses in a foreign language through the 2010 and 2020 Intermediate level.

Description

The Art Education coursework at APSU will inform students on how to teach the discipline of Art specifically rather than have students major and minor in Education and Art, and figure out how to bridge those disciplines.
