Accreditations

All programs in the Department of Art + Design are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.

 

Admission Requirements

Admission to the B.F.A.Art or B.A. Art program is through the Foundations Portfolio Review (usually during the sophomore year). Students are admitted to the program provided they have met the following requirements: 
 

  1. Completion of ART 1340, ART 1350, ART 1045, ART 1360, and
     
  2. Completion of a Foundations Portfolio Review in which the faculty will vote based on the quality of the student’s presented work and accompanying written statements.  Should a student not meet the scoring criteria during their first review, they will be deferred and can attempt the review again the following semester. A student can be denied entrance to the program upon a second deferral vote. A copy of the scoring rubric is available, along with more information about the Foundations Portfolio Review, from the Art + Design office, Art + Design Room 235.
