Accreditations

All programs in the Department of Art & Design are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.

Admission Requirements

Admission to the B.F.A. and B.A. program is by application (usually at the end of the sophomore year), providing the student has met the following requirements:

  1. Completion of: ART 1340, ART 1350, ART 1045, ART 1360
  2. Completion of a Foundations Portfolio Review in which the faculty will vote based on the quality of the student’s work. Should the faculty vote to defer entrance to the program, and the student wishes to reattempt the review, they may do so the following semester. Upon a second deferral, a student is denied entrance to the program.

Description

The Graphic Design concentration for the B.F.A. is for students seeking to work in the field of graphic design. Through a combination of courses in typography, web design, and visual communication, students will learn how to participate in the creative economy.
