Mathematics Education Concentration

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Majors, Concentrations & Minors

This program provides students with a major in mathematics, concentrated in the teaching and learning of mathematics. This concentration prepares students for a variety of possibilities in mathematics education. Option 1, when completed with any testing, portfolio, or other requirements required by the state or APSU’s College of Education, leads to licensure to teach mathematics in Grades 6-12. Option 2 prepares students to pursue mathematics education in other settings or future graduate programs. Option 2 does not directly lead to licensure in Grades 6-12; however, if desired, licensure can be obtained through job-embedded programs as described in state requirements.
