NURS 5106 - Healthcare Policy with an Emphasis on Prevention and Population Health


Credit Hours 3
Prerequisite: NURS 5100  
Description: This course is designed to provide the student with opportunities to explore population and community-based health care principles that impact the client and health care delivery. The course will explore the U.S. preventative task force and determinants of primary and secondary prevention. Notably, the course will provide the student knowledge on how the social determinants of health impact the overall health of a community. Quality, safety, and healthcare finance will be emphasized. Resources will be discussed in relation to availability, barriers, and access to care.
