NURS 5809 - Family Practice Residency

Description: This course will fully immerse the student in the role of the family nurse practitioner. With the guidance of a preceptor and faculty, the student will participate in the provision of increasingly complex direct patient care. The focus of the course is demonstration of clinical mastery in a precepted primary care setting to include individuals and families across the lifespan (infants, children, childbearing females, adults, geriatrics). This course requires an on-campus intensive. (240 total clinical hours)
