SUST 5060 - Sustainable Energy Systems

Prerequisite: MATH 1530 or higher numbered MATH class or equivalent
Description: Fundamentals of both traditional and sustainable energy technologies with a focus on sustainable sources. Sustainable energy options surveyed include solar, wind, biomass, tidal, geothermal, hydropower, fuel cell (hydrogen) and others. Sustainability practices associated with supply, use, re-use and disposal of materials will be briefly addressed. The particular sustainability considerations of buildings and municipalities will be investigated.
