SPED 5200 - Literacy for Special Populations

Credit Hours 3
Description: This course will be an overview of the five foundational literacy skills needed to be a successful reader. It will include a study of assessments, interventions, and development of IEP based on student need. Topics covered include phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Literacy assessment, intervention, and progress monitoring in authentic situations will be discussed.
