Prerequisite: Successful completion of the foundation year generalist curriculum courses.
Description: This course focuses on core theories, elements, and functions of human services management are analyzed with a particular focus on the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to lead public and private human service agencies in the environment of today and the future successfully. Emphasis on internal management functions, such as budget and finance, human resource administration, applications of information technology, and governance relationships; and on external functions, such as legislative, media, and community relationships. Crosscutting topics enhance skills in leadership, mediation, and conflict resolution.
