NURS 5819 - Advanced Psychiatric Residency

Prerequisite: Nurs 5812
Corequisite: Nurs 5902
Description: This course will fully immerse the student in the role of the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. With the guidance of a preceptor and faculty, the student will participate in the provision of mental health care. The focus of the course is final application and synthesis of diagnostic reasoning and advanced therapeutics for mental health disorders in individuals and families across the lifespan. This course requires an on-campus intensive. (240 total clinical hours).
