To be eligible for teacher licensure in grades 7-12, students must complete the prescribed courses, accompanied by the Professional Education minor.

Required Courses in General Education Core
The following specific General Education courses are required for this major: Lower Division Major Requirements: 12 Credit Hours
Upper Division Major Requirements: 34 Credit Hours
Professional Education Minor: 35 Credit Hours
Required for Tennessee teacher licensure in Biology, grades 7-12
Successful completion of this minor, Residency I and II, and Tennessee-mandated licensure examinations leads to teaching licensure for grades 7-12. Testing requirements and other prerequisites for provisional admission and full admission to Teacher Education will require consultation with an education advisor. During Residency semesters, students must be available to spend several weeks in schools and may not be enrolled in classes which conflict with this schedule. Students should plan to complete all other coursework before beginning Residency I. Total Hours: 120 Credit Hours
