Accounting Concentration: 120 Credit Hours
The concentration in accounting is recommended for the student who is interested in a career as an auditor, tax accountant, cost or management accountant, or government/not for profit accountant. The accounting concentration is also of value to those who are interested in entering other fields of business, such as banking, office management, finance, and budgets and planning. No minor is required.
Students must earn 150 hours of college credit before taking the CPA Exam in Tennessee. Students are encouraged to take 30 hours in the Master of Science: Management with a specialization in accounting to satisfy the 150-hour requirement.

Finance Concentration
The concentration in finance is recommended to students interested in careers in financial institutions, brokerage firms or investment banking. It provides excellent undergraduate preparation for graduate study in business, economics, or finance. No minor is required.

Special criteria for Finance Concentration students:
FIN 3610 and FIN 3620 are required in the Real Estate Minor. These two classes are also listed as an option in the Finance Concentration. If you have declared your concentration as Finance and will also minor in Real Estate, you may not use these two classes to cover four requirements. |
