Family Studies Minor

The Family Studies minor provides students with a comprehensive curriculum that fosters an in-depth understanding of the complexities of family life.  Required courses stimulate a critical examination of families within the diverse historical, political, and global contexts.  As an interdisciplinary minor, students may complete coursework in Sociology as well as complementary disciplines in the Behavioral Health Sciences.  Students completing the minor receive the training skills, and knowledge essential to enhancing the lives of families and are well prepared to further their education in graduate programs.

Requirements: 18 Credit Hours

* Choose only one of the two choices listed.

Sociology courses cannot be counted in both the Sociology Major and the Family Studies Minor.
