The program for history majors is designed to prepare students to think critically, communicate effectively, live responsibly, and prosper as citizens in a global society. Toward these goals, the department seeks to impart to all students an understanding of our nation’s history in the context of world history.

University-Wide Freshman Seminar Requirement 1

Lower Division Major Requirements: 6 Credit Hours


Specific Lower Division Requirement: 3 Credit Hours


Upper Division Major Requirements: 15 Credit Hours


  • Two (2) upper divison courses in U. S. History (courses numbered in the 3000’s or 4000’s)    6

  • Two (2) upper divison courses in non-U.S. History (courses numbered in the 3000’s or 4000’s  )  6

  • Any upper division course (courses numbered in the 3000’s or 4000’s)    3 
    (can be U.S. History, non-U.S. Hisotry or any other History course)

 

Specific Upper Division Requirement: 3 Credit Hours
