All programs in the Department of Art & Design are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.
Admission Requirements
Admission to the B.F.A. and B.A. program is by application (usually at the end of the sophomore year), providing the student has met the following requirements:
1. Completion of: ART 1340 , ART 1350 , ART 1045 , ART 1360 and
2. Completion of a Portfolio Review in which the faculty will vote based on the quality of the student’s work. Should faculty vote to deny entrance to the program, the student may appeal and/or re-apply the following semester.
Description
Computer animation and cinematic digital imagery/effects are related and versatile skills for commercial artists. Covering topics such as hand drawn animation, 3D computer animation, digital model building, digital painting, visual effects compositing, live action green screen filming, motion capture technology, and virtual reality systems, students will gain a generalist knowledge of the field. Critical and thoughtful exploration of these subjects is essential for student understanding and appreciation for this quickly evolving form of art and media.
