Accreditations

All programs in the Department of Art & Design are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.

Admission Requirements

Admission to the B.F.A. and B.A. program is by application (usually at the end of the sophomore year), providing the student has met the following requirements:

1. Completion of: ART 1340, ART 1350, ART 1045, ART 1360 and

2. Completion of a Portfolio Review in which the faculty will vote based on the quality of the student’s work. Should faculty vote to deny entrance to the program, the student may appeal and/or re-apply the following semester.

Foreign Language Requirements

The BA requires completion of courses in a foreign language through the 2010 and 2020 Intermediate Level.

Art History Concentration

Students will demonstrate an ability to conduct art historical research and writing.
Students will demonstrate an understanding of the elements and principles of design through application in their art making classes.

Students will demonstratre an application of content in their art history papers.
Students will demonstrate professionalism in presenting their work to committees of faculty.

Studio Art Concentration
