The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) concentration prepares graduates to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based primary care for individuals and families across the lifespan. Students gain the knowledge and clinical judgment needed to independently assess, diagnose, prescribe, and evaluate person-centered care.
The curriculum emphasizes safe, compassionate, and personalized practice using current evidence, clinical guidelines, and healthcare technologies. Graduates are also prepared to promote health and prevent disease through education, screening, and targeted interventions that improve outcomes for diverse populations. Designed with the working nurse in mind, the program is delivered primarily online, with two required on-campus immersions that provide opportunities to refine advanced clinical skills, participate in simulation, and build professional connections. Graduates are eligible to sit for the national FNP certification exam and apply for licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
