NURS 2030 - Fundamentals of Nursing Credit Hours 4 Prerequisite: Requires admission to the prelicensure nursing program. Corequisite: NURS 2031 Description: This course introduces students to a basic nursing knowledge, foundation of concepts, and basic skills for entry into the nursing profession. Course content includes understanding the social, interpersonal, human diversity, and technological components of professional nursing. An introduction to the nursing process provides a decision-making framework to assist students in developing effective clinical judgment skills. Quality care, safety, legal and ethical situations are introduced and applied in both the laboratory and clinical settings. Includes 4 student credit hours of skills lab/clinical experience.
