SCI 4030 - Science Curriculum Development

Prerequisite: Transition 2  
Description: This course should help secondary science teacher candidates (Grades 6-12) select essential content for life, chemical/physical, and earth/space science curricula. Candidates in this course will review basic concepts of the varied science disciplines with a focus on grade-appropriate material for middle and/or high school science classrooms. Conceptual schemes will be discussed for integrated field and laboratory activities and culturally responsive topics in science/technology/society relationships. Classes will include lecture, lab, and outdoor field experiences.
