The Department of Social Work offers a professional program that prepares students as generalist social workers to work in a variety of social service agencies.  In addition to the core courses, elective courses teach skills and knowledge for specific areas, such as aging, medical social work, school social work or child welfare.  Students complete an internship at a field agency in their final semester.  The program is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
