Description of Major

The Public Management degree is available at the Main Campus, Ft. Campbell location, and online.  Through Austin Peay State University’s public management program, you will gain the practical work experience – and technical and managerial skills – needed to succeed in a variety of leadership roles.  Your courses and experiences will prepare you for careers in both public, quasi-public, and nonprofit sectors.  In addition to coursework covering topics such as public personnel, public budgeting, organizational theory and behavior, urban planning, policy analysis and sector management, public management majors can choose any of the University’s minors or select a concentration in criminal justice or general management.  Our students graduate with a solid background in general areas of public management.
