The political science program at Austin Peay is designed for students who want to work in campaigns and government; teach government and history in high school; or who want a traditional liberal arts major which prepares them to think critically and enter a wide variety of business and other nongovernmental organizations. Our majors have many law courses to choose from and students who minor in pre-law are also prepared for law school and graduate school. Courses cannot be counted in both the major and minor. For the major, a departmental exit exam is required the last semester before graduation as well as the successful completion of the new senior capstone course.

Electives

Choose either:

A) three upper-division POLS courses, or

B) POLS 2000  or POLS 2040  (i.e., whichever of the two is not taken as a required minor course) and two upper-division POLS courses.

Total Hours 18
