A minor in English is a great way to build transferable skills. No matter what major you choose, you can always transfer your skills to your next job. According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, people change jobs/career paths 11-14 times in course of their professional life. What does this mean? Good writing will be one of the most important non-technical skills you have in the workplace, and a minor in English will help you develop this ability. English minors also are good at communication, organization, critical thinking, analysis, knowledge of other cultures, even conflict resolution.
