All programs in the Department of Art & Design are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.
Admission to the B.F.A. and B.A. program is by application (usually at the end of the sophomore year), providing the student has met the following requirements:
1. Completion of: ART 1340 , ART 1350 , ART 1045 , ART 1360 and
2. Completion of a Portfolio Review in which the faculty will vote based on the quality of the student’s work. Should faculty vote to deny entrance to the program, the student may appeal and/or re-apply the following semester.
The curriculum for the concentration is a combination of the existing BA Studio Art concentration and the existing Art History Minor. The substantial increase of Art History coursework (from 12 credit hours to 30) will increase student critical reading, writing, and research at the undergraduate level.
